Admission Guidelines

• Availing of the application Form and registering the candidate does not guarantee admission to St. Karen’s Primary School.
• The candidate must have completed [3] years as on 31^st March of the year of seeking admission to the Nursery Class.
• Class-wise age group will be as follows:

IV	9 Years to 10 Years 8 Months
V	10 Years to 11 Years 8 Months



• Parents are required to meet the selection committee as per the time and date given on submission of Application Form for the Nursery Class and for rest of the classes i.e. Prep to V the Candidate will be required to appear in the Proficiency and Aptitude Assessment on the specified date.
• Attach Photostat copies of the following with the Application Form.
• Birth Certificate from Municipal Corporation or Panchayat.
• If Christian, Baptism certificate and a letter from the Parish Priest.
• Any one for proof of residence:
  (i) Ration Card (ii) Election Id (iii) Current Landline Telephone Bill (iv) Current Electricity Bill
• Photocopy of the school Identity Card if the sibling is studying in St.Karen’s Primary School.
• Caste Certificate ( if SC,ST,OBC).
• Original Certificates should not be attached to the Application Form, they must be produced at the time of verification of the form by the Selection Committee.
• It is the responsibility of the parents to see that the Application Form is complete in all respects. Incomplete / illegibly written / overwritten / lack of supportive documents or certificates will lead to rejection of Application Form. False documents / incorrect information found at any time, even after admission, will debar the candidate from getting admission or pursuing studies. Overaged children will not be selected.
• Two recent passport size photo of the candidate and two passport size family photo [Father, Mother and Candidate] must be submitted with the application form.
• All documents submitted at any time will become the property of the school and will not be returned.
• Selection of the candidates will be done ‘by a committee. No correspondence will be solicited regarding selection and admission of the candidates. Any recommendation, use of influence (direct or indirect), offer of donation etc. will lead to the cancellation of the application form / Admission of the candidate.
• If selected, admission must be taken within the time given for admission. Thereafter the candidate will forfeit the chance for admission. This list will be put up on the School Notice Board.
• Preference will be given to the candidates of the following categories who fulfill the other eligibility criteria for admission.
• Christian Candidates, children of St. Karen’s Secondary School and High School, Ex-Karenite’s children, students of siblings studying in St. Karen’s and Students from the neighborhood. Children of School Staff/Faculty.

CRITERIA FOR PROMOTION :

• Regular Assessments are conducted which are mandatory for all the students to take up seriously and parents much co-operate with the school management in fulfilling the necessary requirements for the same.

NOTE : The answer papers of the final exams are not shown. If the need does arise, then the Headmistress/Asst. Headmistress will probe the matter and her findings and decisions will be final. Such matters should be brought up in writing for consideration within a fortnight of the distribution of the Report Cards and not later.

• Attendance must be 80% in average.
• Past academic performance may be considered to give promotion to those who could not appear in the exam for major and prolonged medical ailment by the discretionary powers of the Headmistress.

• Double Promotions are not considered.
