St. Karen’s Primary School is a unit of St. Karen’s Nursery School. The Patron Saint of the
school is St. Katherine of Siena. Her feast day is on the 29th of April. This is celebrated as St.
Karen’s Day. St. Karen’s Nursery School was founded in the year 1965 by renowned
educationist Mr. D P Galstaun & his wife Mrs. L.B. Galstaun.
The school has derived its name from the novel KAREN written by Marie Lyons Killilea.
‘KAREN’ is the inspiring true story of a little girl who triumphed over disaster and her
delightful family who made her triumph possible. Imbued with the same spirit of sacrifice,
love, devotion and care for children, St.Karen’s was established.
St. Karen’s Primary School is a minority Anglo-Indian Christian institution, by reason of both
religion and language. This institution is not affiliated to any recognized board. At the end
of this session on being promoted to Std.VI, the T.C. will also be issued allowing you to apply
for admission to any school. However, it is clarified that the School Management simply
follows the pattern of study prescribed by the CBSE.
